What was a piece of advice that just stuck with you

"If you apply that to life I think you realise that you don't have to sweat the small stuff, you don't have to worry about things you can't control, because you can't control it and so there's no point in worrying"

We asked Andy Choi - Real Estate Agent, Auctioneer and all round good guy, if he was ever given some wise words that stuck with him throughout his career.

Enter Andy:

"Um ooh it's difficult without going too deep isn't it.

I run through a lot of a lot of different personal mantras sort of things, like my life philosophy is dependent on the situation and things like that, but I think this is going back to my Bible roots, you know back at school there's a verse in Corinthians. They actually used to hang above our washing machine in the laundry, and gosh, for the sake of me, I can't remember the actual phrase. The essence of it is; Accept the things you cannot change, change the things you can and add the wisdom to know the difference.

If you apply that to life I think you realise that you don't have to sweat the small stuff, you don't have to worry about
things you can't control, because you can't control it and so there's no point in worrying and anything outside of that, well it's out of your control anyway. If you can control it though, then you can directly affect it and if you've chosen not to or you've done nothing you've actively chosen not to.

So there's another one that is if you don't make a decision, somebody has to make the decision for you
so can't put those two things together".
